So this was when the story started getting really interesting for me. As I've mentioned before, I wasn't given spoilers or hints of what was going to happen in the comic so I was coming in "blind". This meant I was experiencing the comic like the reader.
The thing I noticed most about the artwork I was receiving - close ups. There were plenty of them.
I guess you could say I learnt a lot about storyboarding from watching Jerem's progression of storytelling in pictures. As purely a reader of comics, this was something I had largely ignored. Sure, I can see a scene coming into fruition and sure, it's obvious if you think about it now but like making films and reading the blog posts from my collaborators in their very different industries, "directing" was not something I immediately associated with creating comics.
Silly me and how very wrong I was (still am).
It is due to Jerem's diligence in shaping the atmosphere and directing these close-ups of situations that provided subtle but effective shudders. I see it now after being away from the project and reading the whole damn thing once again.
